PLA is polylactic acid, a vegetable-based plastic that uses renewable corn-starch in its manufacture, versus non-renewable petroleum. After use, PLA is industrially compostable, breaking down into harmless natural compounds. The nails are 60% plant-based and over 90% biodegradable into CO2 and H2O biomass.
