LastObject has composed a handwash as a waterless, powder formula to which water is added and mixed by the user in its refillable bottle. The formula is free from sulphates, dyes, and perfume, and is instead made up of natural sugars and a hyaluronic acid derivative, with a pH of 5.5 suiting sensitive skin. To use, the powder is mixed with water in the bottle, shaken for 30 seconds, and then left for 30 minutes to 24 hours to result in a creamy handwash formula. The hand wash weighs around 90% less than most other liquid hand wash soaps, thanks to being waterless. Thus, it reduces CO2 emissions created during transport by around 80 % when compared to purchasing a liquid hand soap.

What sets your product apart and why is it innovative?

We didn’t want to compromise with the quality, which is why our new line of products has been in development for 2 full years, but the hard work and patience finally paid off. We wanted a product that was just as good as the best creamy gel version on the market and believe we achieved just that with the help of a Danish beauty expert and hundreds of samples, but don’t just take our word for it, test it.

How do you promote your product on multiple channels?

We promote our products on social media via paid ads where we reach 1.000.000 people per month, but also in our channels primarily through Instagram (143.000), and Facebook (43.000), but also through sales initiatives with our distributors (5), retailers (3.000), email (120.000) subscribers and Kickstarter campaigns (6 and counting with 50.000 backers).

How does your product meet the evaluation criteria of its category?

We strive to make the best refillable products in the world, that look & feel just like the single-use version they are replacing. We are super proud of our Vegan, Dermatologically tested, Allergy Certified, perfume-free hand wash for sensitive skin. We have made it in a beautiful subtle design and high-quality materials thereby making them last a long time and saving the world from single-use plastic bottles that might otherwise end up in a landfill. When you buy our refill it means ~80 % less carbon emissions from shipping compared to an equal amount of the liquid version. That’s pretty innovative to us.
