Product description
Baralan presents a new line of bioplastic items produced by a biopolymer. This Biopolymer is made by a combination of natural fibres and waste from a specific manufacturing process. Baralan is able to use this Biopolymer to produce certain standard items with injection moulding technology. The items are produced in the Group’s manufacturing plant, Labor Plast, and presented in 4 product categories: sticks, jars and compacts, overcaps/overpumps and screw caps – the best accessories also for Baralan’s glass bottles and jars.
Benefits
This new raw material combines the processing capabilities of thermoplastic materials with properties of renewable resources and natural materials. The Biopolymer is 100% natural and its main characteristics are: recyclable and biodegradable. This Biopolymer can be used with existing Baralan moulds and has flexible applicability in manufacturing.
Technical details
Baralan has performed positive mechanical tests which are in continuous progress along with testing of compatible and coherent colouring elements, or transparent versions, and/or decorations. Baralan’s corporate decisions are made in full awareness and respect for social responsibility as it has an active team with the specific mission of researching and producing innovative sustainable packaging. Starting from here they are able to develop a packaging that could also be compostable in compliance with current regulations.

We are able to offer a sustainable alternative solution to plastic that integrates environmental criteria in the industrialization process of a product presenting the possibility to develop bioplastic items. The scope of our sustainable packaging evolution is to propose a sustainable complete life-cycle.
