A graduate of Heidelberg University, Angelika Meiss created the concept of COSSMA magazine, the international trade journal targeting the cosmetics industry, in 2000. Since then, she has continually reshaped the magazine as well as its broad online portfolio in response to the constantly evolving needs of the influencers in the cosmetics industry. The Indie Brands Roundtable which Angelika has presented for many years at In-Cosmetics has truly become a must-see event among the marketing trends presentations. Angelika also regularly presents the Anti-Aging Conference at BEAUTY FORUM LEIPZIG, a tradeshow dedicated to beauticians.

Cathy Chen is the International Axe Director of L’Oréal Paris Make-Up DMI for Asia. With over 8 years’ branding & product innovation expertise, focused on Make-up, Ms. Chen has held global executive marketing positions in the Paris headquarters and Shanghai offices for the L’Oréal Paris and Maybelline New York brands. With a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Foreign trade from the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade, her prior experience also includes marketing positions at Avon and Unilever.

Dimitri is a graduate of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland, and holds an MBA from the ESSEC Business School in Paris. Author of the book "100 Pionniers Pour La Planète" published by JC.Lattès, he traveled the world for one year looking for innovative companies in the field of environment. Dimitri is director of Quantis France, and is the company’s cosmetic sector lead. In 2018, Quantis launched the SPICE (Sustainable Packaging Initiative for Cosmetics) initiative in partnership with L’Oréal and key players in the cosmetics industry (Aptar, Avon, Clarins, Coty, Estée Lauder, Hermès Parfums, Heinz Glass, L'Occitane en Provence, LVMH, Sisley, Shiseido, Schwan Cosmetics) to collectively shape the future of sustainable packaging. SPICE will develop guidelines, best practices, database, market watch, and scientific content to drive forward the whole industry on sustainability. Dimitri is active in supporting Quantis’ key clients to measure, understand, and define strategies and commitments on environmental performance. He also helps Quantis’ customers to communicate on the performance of their products across their entire value chain.

Former student of the Ecole Nationale Supérieur de Création Industrielle (National School for Industrial Creation), Elie Papiernik is the artistic director of centdegrés, the independent creative agency that he co-founded in Paris in 1988 with his friend David Nitlich. Brand intelligence, brand and style platform, visual identity, product and graphic design, merchandising, scenography, retail design, architecture, digital brand activation and video production presence: the agency is recognized as one of the most important for its expertise in the field of beauty, luxury and with beautiful brands that create strong emotional bonds. Present on the international stage from Paris to Hong Kong, China, where he opened four agencies, as well as Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Seoul, Sao Paulo, Casablanca, Dubai, Madrid and Geneva – centdegrés combines deep reflection, anticipation, and action to “think far, do well”. Passionate about brand transformation, ground-breaking innovation, collective intelligence, Elie Papiernik actively participates in subjects including the future of retail, the digital revolution, consumer experience and storytelling for large groups, as well as international shows. 

Lan Vu is the CEO of Beautystreams, the leading trend source for the beauty and packaging industries. Beautystreams provides color and trend forecasts and consumer insights to companies across six continents including Amway, AmorePacific, Chanel, Estée Lauder, LG, L’Oréal, MAC, Marie Dalgar, Martha Tilaar Companies, P&G, Sephora, Unilever, etc. Ms.Vu is a renowned trend forecast authority with over 25 years of experience.  She has contributed to and is widely quoted in many international publications such as Vogue, WWD, Marie Claire, Vanity Fair, Textile View, etc.  A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, she lectures worldwide at key industry events. 

Mintel’s senior beauty analyst Laurie Du is based in Shanghai. She has a long career in beauty and personal care. Prior to joining Mintel, she worked for leading domestic and international cosmetics companies, and has a great deal of experience in consumer insight, sensory evaluation, and marketing intelligence analysis, which has given her a unique perspective on the Chinese market.

Sinthia Shiu is the Country Manager at Greater China for LVMH, former General Manager of Fresh (LVMH) for Asia Pacific region. With 13 years’ experience in beauty industry cross skincare, fragrance, makeup and hair categories, Ms. Shiu has held different positions in global product marketing in New York, management position in APAC region, and general management in Hong Kong. Her prior experience also includes positions at Estée Lauder and L’Oréal.

Stephanie Bertand is a passionate trends curator and poly-sensorial textures lover with a 10 years’ experience in Product Development and Prospective Innovation within Global leading beauty players and subcontractors. Ms. Bertand is Senior Manager Trends & Prospective Innovation for Skin Care & Body Care at Coty.

Based in Paris, France, Vincent Gallon reports on the cosmetics industry worldwide. He studied Political Sciences and Law at the Université Lumières in Lyon and Université Panthéon-Sorbonne in Paris, and Marketing at the EM Lyon business school.Vincent has a long-standing experience in the cosmetics industry. He started his career at the French beauty federation (FEBEA) and SoGeCos Bologna Fiere, the Milan-based organizer of the Cosmoprof trade shows. Vincent cofounded PremiumBeautyNews.com in 2008, and the MakeUp in Paris tradeshow in 2009. BrazilBeautyNews.com was launched in May 2014, to pay tribute to the strong development of the Brazilian personal care market.
 

Founder and CEO of prestige Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) brand WEI, Wei Young Brian, was raised in the heartland of China. What started as a fascination with herbs ultimately became the inspiration for the development of several beauty lines including WEI, WEI EAST, and WEI TO GO. Today, WEI is synonymous with luxury skincare and recognized for groundbreaking products that invoke the rich traditions of Chinese culture and medicine. Brian’s entrance into the beauty industry was a gradual process. After relocating to the United States to complete a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Brian began her career as a computer programmer. When she returned to China, Brian decided to branch into beauty. Working with her mother and sisters, Brian took her love for Chinese herbs and practices, and developed her first line of products. In 1998, Brian and her husband moved back to the US in pursuit of medical expertise for their firstborn son, Alex, later diagnosed with autism. With a wealth of knowledge on the subject of Traditional Chinese Medicine and ancient herbal remedies, Brian relied heavily on TCM’s healing powers to aid in her son’s treatment. Simultaneously, Brian set out to launch a beauty brand in the US, incorporating new practices and ideas gained while supporting her son. This new approach allowed Brian to start looking at her brand with a more spiritual lens. It also heightened the importance of creating products that promote beauty and balance from the inside out – WEI was born. Today, Brian remains focused on her holistic approach to beauty – traveling throughout China in search of the best herbs and centuries-old Eastern remedies and researching modern, high-tech delivery systems.
