Lip Oil SPF 40+ featuring Kleair™
SOLÉSENCE BEAUTY SCIENCE (United States)
www.solesence.com
This Lip Oil combines sun protection, antioxidant effects, and SPF 40+ in a formula that comes in 12 vibrant shades. The SPF 40+ acts to protect lips from over 97% of UV rays, thus combatting premature skin aging, including the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The formula is created with Solésence’s Kleair™ technology, which allows for the mineral-based, non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen to be delivered in a lightweight texture. Kleair™ is billed as “zinc oxide reinvented with extremely high transparency, a more efficient response to UV, and unparalleled free radical quenching.” The formula also contains naturally derived squalane for moisturization and anti-aging benefits, meadowfoam seed oil, and calming and soothing bisabolol. Alongside its UV protection, the formula reduces free radical-induced pollution by more than 85%.

GREENIS® Dispenser
CORADIN S.A.S. (France)
www.coradin.com IN: Coradin

Developed by CORADIN, originally for Dermalogica, this dispenser packaging is designed to optimize recyclability and be intuitive for the consumer to use. While dosing droppers are usually composed of glass or multi-materials, this dropper component has been made with over 97% PP which simplifies its recyclability with the full PP pack. The dispenser only has three components and is made from almost all mono-material PP and PCR-PP, except for TPE which is used for 3% of the finished dispenser, utilized for the actuation button on the dispenser’s side. The weight of the dispenser is 14.6 grams, representing an 18.6% reduction in weight compared to the previous dispenser used by Dermalogica. With a push button on the side, the consumer can hold it like a pen for ease of use and precise dosage. The dispenser has been certified as compatible with a PP recycling stream by Germany’s Cyclos-HTP Institute.

Jurors noted that the side button represents a “unique design,” and added that the packaging is “very ergonomic.” The three-component pack is made from over 75% post-consumer recycled plastic, which one juror called “amazing,” while the dropper component’s composition of over 97% PP means it can be recycled with the full PP pack. The packaging design also represents an 18.6% reduction in weight compared to Dermalogica’s previous dispenser. “Love that there's a great drop in material use,” said one juror, pronouncing that the packaging “checks all of the boxes [and] has a ton of usage for various products.
